Beyonce and her mom Tina Knowles did an interview for the Early Show on Thursday, speaking on how proud they are of Solange and how happy they are of her success. Aww how sweet.

Today marks the seven year anniversary of Aaliyahs’s death. Aaliyah was someone I truly admired when i was younger. I remember hearing the horrible news when I was 9 years old. I seriously went into a state of depression because I truly looked up to her. It still hurts my heart to know she is gone, but I know her legacy and amazing talent will forever live on. Rest In Peace Baby Girl.

Some of the worlds must accomplished and acclaimed female artists have joined together for the song “Just Stand Up,” a charity single in support of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a new initiative to raise philanthropic dollars for accelerating ground-breaking cancer research.
The roster of ladies include Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes, and Carrie Underwood. The project was conceived by Antonio “L.A.” Reid of Island Def Jam Music Group and was produced by Reid and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. This will be their first collaborative effort in two decades.

OBAMA CHOOSES BIDEN AS RUNNING MATE

Senator Barack Obama has chosen Delaware Senator Joe Biden to be his running mate n the 2008 Presidential election. A statement on Obama’s Web site said
”Biden brings extensive foreign policy experience, an impressive record of collaborating across party lines, and a direct approach to getting the job done.”
In selecting Biden, Obama passed over several other potential running mates, none more prominent than former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, his tenacious rival in dozens of primaries and caucuses.
Clinton issued a statement Saturday praising Obama’s decision and calling Biden
”an exceptionally strong, experienced leader and devoted public servant.”
The decision is intended to give the Democratic ticket depth in areas Obama was labeled as weak by his Republican opponents — foreign policy and global security.
In recent years, Biden has traveled to Afghanistan and Pakistan two times and to Iraq eight times. He returned Monday from a fact-finding trip to Georgia.
