Michael Joseph Jackson would have been 51 years old today. The late legend was born on August 29, 1958, in the small town of Gary, Indiana, and went on to become one of the greatest entertainers of all time. We celebrate the life and legacy of the King of Pop. Happy birthday, MJ.
Ne-Yo and Jazmine Sullivan are set to star in a new movie entitled, “Red Tails”. Sullivan will play a jazz singer who performs for soldiers in the Tuskegee Airmen story. Director Anthony Hemingway will shoot the film in Prague and has also tapped singer Ne-Yo to join the cast. I cant wait until this movie drops. I’m a huge Jazmine Sullivan fan, and I just recently saw her in concert and homegirl killled it on the stage. Go Jazzy!
Voletta Wallace, the mother of the late legendary rapper B.I.G. has finally spoken out after Lil Kim spoke publicly about how upset she is with the way she’s depicted in the new movie “Notorious.”
I gained strength from it. There were things about him that I never knew that I wanted to see for myself on film. I saw a side of my son that I heard of but I haven’t accepted. I’m angered by certain things, disappointed and shocked. So this film taught me tolerance and to be less critical. I would love to speak to Lil’ Kim, because I need to ask more about this love relationship because I really didn’t like the way he treated her and I’m praying that that’s not it. Only she can answer those questions. She’s a sweet girl and I didn’t think she deserved to be treated the way he treated her, if that’s the case.”
Drag Queen extroadinaire RuPaul is definitely ready for Inauguration Day. The legendary queen recently photoshopped his face onto Mr & Ms. Obama’s. Hahaha this ish is hilarious.
Candace Parker and her husband, Sacramento Kings forward Shelden Williams, are expecting their first baby.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Parker had only a brief statement to make in confirming the baby news: “We feel blessed.” Sparks fans may not be feeling the same, as marketing for the season has strongly promoted the well-known forward. Parker is a Naperville native who won Rookie of the Year and is now playing for the WNBA’s Los Angeles team, the Sparks. Sparks General Manager Penny Toler said she thinks Parker can return well before the season ends. Toler said her understanding is that Parker is expecting the baby in early May.
R&B star Jill Scott is expecting her first child with fiance Jon Roberts. The couple announced their engagement onstage during a concert in New York in June.
And now Scott, who divorced her husband of five years, DJ Lyzel Williams, last year, has revealed she will be a first time mother at the age of 36.
The singer, who is due to give birth in April, found out she was expecting shortly before flying to Africa to film new TV series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.
She tells People.com, “The first trimester I spent in Botswana. That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You’re sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days. My doctors gave me a clean bill of health and said you can do this (continue working), so I did it.”
Hip-hop star Nas and his wife, singer Kelis, are expecting their first child together, Us Weekly reported Wednesday (January 14).
A source reportedly told Us that the “Milkshake” singer is in her first trimester. “It’s all they are talking about,” the source told the magazine. “She is carrying hip-hop royalty! They are so excited.” The source said mother-to-be Kelis already has a baby bump.
Nas has a daughter, Destiny, from a previous relationship.
The couple wed in January 2005 after a two-year courtship. The New York natives were married in Atlanta, where they keep a home. Nas’ brother, Braveheart member Jungle, served as the best man.
The pair raised eyebrows on the 2008 Grammy Awards red carpet. The rapper was in the midst of promoting his project, then titled N—er and later released as an untitled album, and his wife showed her support by wearing a jacket adorned with the racial epithet.
Nas said their personal life isn’t nearly as attention-grabbing. The two were set to appear in an MTV reality show about their life together, but the introverted rapper put the kibosh on the project before it could air. Nas cited privacy concerns, in addition to his marriage just being a normal relationship. He called their lives “boring” and said the only reality he was comfortable with was his music.
At press time, representatives for Nas and Kelis had no comment about the reported pregnancy.

It’s about time! I new it was only a matter of time before they started doing movies on the great performers who have passed, hince “Notorious”. i’m so elated that they’ve decided to do a movie on my favorite entertainer of all time; Aaliyah Dana Haughton. they could’nt have found anyone who resembled her better than Candain R&B singer Keshia Chante. The singer signed on to do the movie and filming started in August of 2008. The movie will chronicle the late singers journey to success to her untimely death in 2001. The movie is set to drop fall 2009. I seriously cant wait to see this, and i hope Keshia Chante does her thing in this movie, because Aaliyah was arguably the best entertainer of her time. We miss you Babygirl!
Today is World Aids Day..and to inform you all on the histroy of AIDS..let me drop some knowledge.
At the end of 2003, an estimated 1,039,000 to 1,185,000 persons in the United States were living with HIV/AIDS.
In 2006, 35,314 new cases of HIV/AIDS in adults, adolescents, and children were diagnosed in the 33 states with long-term, confidential name-based HIV reporting. CDC has developed a new and innovative system designed to estimate the number of new HIV infections (or incidence) for the United States in a given year. Using this new technology, CDC estimates that 56,300 new HIV infections occurred in the United States in 2006.
In 2006, almost three quarters of HIV/AIDS diagnoses among adolescents and adults were for males.
Although blacks, or African Americans, made up only 13% of the population in the 33 states, they accounted for almost half of the estimated number of HIV/AIDS diagnoses made during 2006.
In 2006, persons aged 25–34 and persons aged 35–44 accounted for the largest proportions of newly diagnosed HIV/ AIDS cases
